dc.descriptionEl objetivo de este estudio fue desarrollar una primera aproximación a la problemática experimentada por los cuidadores familiares de pacientes con Enfermedad de Alzheimer. Para ello, se diseñó y evaluó un taller psicoeducativo dirigido a un grupo de cuidadores de la Región Metropolitana. El taller fue aplicado a once cuidadores familiares. Se realizaron dos tipos de análisis: a) evaluación pre-post de la sobrecarga del cuidador, y b) análisis descriptivo del grado en que fueron cumplidos los aspectos del taller. Los resultados muestran que el Taller Psicoeducativo para Cuidadores Familiares de Pacientes con Alzheimer es una intervención que promueve la toma de conciencia de los cuidadores sobre su propio bienestar biopsicosocial y posibilita, parcialmente, el aprendizaje de destrezas que permitan enfrentar situaciones de la vida diaria asociadas al cuidado.es-ES
dc.descriptionThe purpose of this study was to develop an initial approach to the problems experienced by family caregivers of patients with Alzheimer Disease. A psychoeducational intervention directed to a group of caregivers was designed and evaluated. The workshop was applied to eleven family caregivers. Two kinds of analysis were done: a) a pre-post assessment of the caregiver’s burden and b) a descriptive analysis on the accomplishment of the intervention. The results show that The Psychoeducational Workshop for Family Caregivers of Patients with Alzheimer Disease promotes the awareness of the caregivers about their personal biopsychosocial well-being and promotes, partially, the acquisition of skills in order to cope with daily activities associated with caregivingen-US
