dc.description	La Intervención Preventiva de Violencia Intrafamiliar en el Centro Comunitario Padre Alberto Hurtado del Hogar de Cristo se realizó en el marco de una pre-práctica, en la cuidad de Puerto Montt, X Región, en Enero del 2000. Esta iniciativa surgió de la coordinación del Hogar de Cristo y la Escuela de Psicología de la Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. Su objetivo fue la realización de una intervención preventiva a nivel primario y secundario en violencia intrafamiliar; para ello se siguieron suatro líneas de acción: una capacitación en el tema de violencia para los funcionarios del centro, un encuentro de padres, un taller de habilidades sociales con niños y un catastro de las instituciones asociadas a la red de violencia de la zona. Esta experiencia nos llevó a concluir que: el Hogar de Cristo posee recursos potencialmente relevantes para la prevención de violencia intrafamiliar; existen factores precipitantes de violencia en la comunidad del centro; se hace necesario cuestionar el castigo físico y las interacciones violentas, así como también promover su detección tanto dentro como fuera de la insitución y fomentar estrategia no violentas de resolución de conflictos.	es-ES
dc.description	A Preventive Intervention Experience in Intrafamily Violence at Hogar de Cristo’s Padre Alberto Hurtado Community Center, was conducted within the frame of a field work activity carried out prior to the supervised professional training period, in the city of Puerto Montt, Tenth Region, in January 2000. This initiative arose from the joint action of Hogar de Cristo and the School of Psychology at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. It aimed at a primary and secondary level of preventive intervention of intrafamily violence and, in line with this objective, four strands of action were pursued: on-the-job-training on intrafamily violence for the center’s staff, a meeting with parents, a social skills workshop with children, and the development of an inventory of institutions associated to the network concerned with violence in the area. This experience enabled us to conclude that: Hogar de Cristo has resources which are potentially relevant in preventing intrafamily violence; there are triggering factors of violence in the community where the center operates; and there is a need to question physical punishment and violent interactions, as well as also to encourage their detection in and out of the institution and to promote non-violent strategies for conflict resolution.	en-US
