dc.descriptionLa Participación Comunitaria (PC) constituye hoy en América Latina una forma de acción colectiva para la solución de problemas concretos de la comunidades y para promover cambio social en sus entornos, valorada favorablemente por la sociedad civil y, en algunos casos, por el Estado.Desde hace algunos años la Psicología Social ha comenzado a ofrecer conocimientos útiles para el entrendimiento de la Participación Comunitaria, pero su interés se ha centrado principalmente en las coniciones asociadas con su inicio, descuidando el estudio de las relacionadas con la continuidad de la experiencia participativa.En este artículo nos referiremos precisamente a este último aspecto, presentando algunas conceptualizaciones que se derivan de la investigación de un proyecto de PC que tiene una duración de diecisiete años. Antes, sin embargo, haremos algunas consideraciones acerca de: (a) El contexto en que se desarrolla la participación de las comunidades en América Latina, (b) Diferentes interpretaciones que se hacen en término participación, y (c) Algunas de las investigaciones que sobre la PC se han realizado desde la Psicología Social.es-ES
dc.descriptionFrom some years ago, Social Psychology has begun to offer very useful information for the understanding of Community Participation, but the main interest has been orientated to wards the conditions regarding its ignition, and not to the study of the conditions related to the continuity of the participative experience. In this paper we will refer precisely to this last aspect, presenting some conceptualizations derived from the investigation of a Community Participation project of seventeen years duration. First of all, however, we will consider some aspects about (a) The context in which participation of the communities in Latin America, is developing (b) Different interpretations of the term “participation”, (c) Some Community Participation investigations effected from the point of view sight of the Social Psychology.en-US
