dc.descriptionLa necesidad de enfrentar las crecientes demandas de vivenda dentro de un panorama nacional crítico, ha requerido la implementación de soluciones distintas a las tradicionales. Una de ellas es la autoconstrucción comunitaria de viviendas, en la que las familias se involucran en todas las fraces del proyecto, el cual además de la gestión de un terreno y de la construcción de viviendas, incluye el desarrollo de otros procesos orientados a promover el crecimiento personal y grupal de los participantes, todo lo cual contribuye a mejorar su entorno residencial y social.En este artículo analizamos una experiencia de autoconstrucción desarrollada por un grupo de familias, que perdieron sus viviendas debido a un desastre natural en Caracas.Entrevistamos en profundidad a 25 miembros de la comunidad. El análisis de las entrevistas se realizó en términos del significado de la autoconstrucción y se basó en la identificación e interpretación de los temas, alrededor de los cuales se estructuraron los discursos de los informantes, a saber, las dimensiones afectiva, política, social, autogestionaria e histórica, presentes en proyectos de esta naturaleza.es-ES
dc.descriptionThe need to face the increasing housing demands within a critical national situation, has required the implementation of solutions different from traditional ones. One of them is self-help housing in community, in wich families gest involved in all of the project stages, which besides land pursue and housing construction requires the development of other processes oriented toward promoting personal and community growth of the participants, all of which contributes to improving their residential and social milieu. In this article we analyze an experiences in self-help building undertaken by a group of families who lost their home due to a natural disaster in Caracas. We interviewed in depth 25 community members. The analysis of the interviews was done in terms of the meanings around wich discourses of informants were structured, this is affective, political, social, self-management and historical dimensions present in projects of this nature.en-US
