| dc.description | Data gathered in a descriptive-comparative study on 1320 Argentine adolescent students are reported. Samples include subjects living in three different geographical regions: Buenos Aires, Tucumán and Patagonia. For psychological assessment the Symptom Checklist (SCL-90-R) in its Spanish version and a sociodemographic survey were used. We present data analyzed by sex, age and region, pointing out main differences found. Significant statistical differences by region, gender and age were found for some of the psychopathological dimensions analyzed. These data allow to hypothesize that differences in social norms and cultural patterns could explain differences in the way adolescents construct and express their emotions, mainly those called negative affects or psychological distress. | en-US |
| dc.description | El trabajo presenta los resultados de un estudio descríptivo-comparativo realizado en una muestra de 1320 estudiantes adolescentes residentes en tres áreas geográficas de Argentina: Buenos Aires, Tucumán y Patagonia. Los sujetos respondieron el Inventario de Síntomas SCL-90-R y una encuesta sociodemográfica. Los datos se analizan según región, edad y sexo, indicándose las principales diferencias halladas. Se han encontrado diferencias estadísticamente significativas para algunas de las dimensiones psicopatológicas analizados según región, edad y género por lo cual cabe plantear como hipótesis de trabajo que pautas sociales y valores culturales distintos podrían explicar las diferencias en las formas de construir y expresar las vivencias emocionales, especialmente los denominados malestares psicológicos o afectos negativos. | es-ES |
