| dc.description | En este artículo, se investigan los efectos psicosociales que produce la jubilación en el transcurso del tiempo en el adulto mayor. Para tratar esta temática nos enfocamos a dos variables: la autoestima y el apoyo social, utilizando el Test de Autoestima de Coopersmith para adultos y el Esquema Modificado de la Entrevista sobre Apoyos Sociales de Arizona (ASSIS). La muestra estuvo compuesta por 80 adultos mayores, 40 profesionales y 40 técnicos - secundarios que jubilaron en el año 1995 y 2000, afiliados al INP de la Región Metropolitana. Los resultados concluyen que los adultos mayores del año 2000 preseen mejores niveles de autoestima hogar, general y laboral. En lo que se refiere a los niveles de apoyo social en el área material tanto los jubilados profesionales en el año 1995 como 2000 no cuentan con este apoyo, sin embargo los técnico - secundarios cuentan con este apoyo minoritariamente. En cuanto a asistencia física ambos grupos no poseen en su mayoría este tipo de apoyo aunque los jubilados en el año 1995 se encuentran más desprovistos ya que, están más solos. Finalmente se concluye con un llamado para fomentar las investigaciones con este grupo etario. | es-ES |
| dc.description | The article investigates psychosocial effects of retirement overtime in senior adults. To deal with this topic we focused in two variables: self- esteem and social support, using Coopersmith Self-Esteem test for adults and Modified Scheme of the Arizona Social Support Interview (ASSIS). The sample was comprised of 80 senior adults, 40 professionals and 40 technicians, who retired in 1995 and 2000, affiliated to the INP of the Metropolitan Region. The results show that those who retired in 2000 have higher levels of home, general, and work Self-Esteem. Regarding social support levels in the material area, the professionals retired in 1995 y 2000 do not have this support, however the technicians count minoritarily with it. Regarding physical assistance, most of the individuals in both groups do not have this type of support, although those who retired in 1995 are more deprived because they are more alone. Finally, the article concludes with a call to promote research with this age troup. | en-US |
