Based on the main theoretical and empirical studies on creativity, this article proposes four basic principles on which to define the concept of learning, followed by the planning of its teaching. The possibility of creating from a given knowledge base involves the depth with which it is treated, which is determined by the understanding of the essential tensions and relationships within that knowledge base, the recognition of the contextual issues involved, the possibility of recognizing the diversity of perspectives and the ability  to transfer the principles of that knowledge, to distant fields.A partir de los principales aportes teóricos y empíricos de los estudios sobre creatividad, el presente artículo propone cuatro principios básicos que permiten definir el aprendizaje para crear, y luego planificar su enseñanza. La posibilidad de crear a partir de un determinado saber incolucra la profundidad con que se maneja, siendo ésta determinada por la comprensión de las tensiones y relaciones esenciales del saber en cuestión, el reconocimiento de los temas que lo contextualizan, la posibilidad de reconocer sus diversas perspectivas y la capacidad de transferir los principios de dicho saber a campos lejanos.
