| dc.description | Con el trabajo pionero de Allport y Ross (1967) comenzaron a estudiarse empíricamente las orientaciones religiosas. Inicialmente, se observaron 2 orientaciones: extrínseca e intrínseca. Tiempo más tarde, a partir de análisis factorial confirmatorios, se observó que la orientación extrínseca estaba compuesta a su vez por 2 dimensiones, la extrínseca social y la extrínseca personal (Gorsuch & McPherson, 1989; Kirkpatrick, 1989; Maltby, 2002). Con el objetivo de explorar la dimensionalidad de las orientaciones religiosas, se llevó a cabo la validación de la escala I-E “Age Universal” (Maltby, 2002) en el contexto argentino. Participaron en el presente estudio 288 estudiantes de ambos sexos de una universidad de Buenos Aires, seleccionados intencionalmente. El criterio de selección fue que se consideraran a sí mismos religiosos. Los resultados obtenidos por análisis factoriales exploratorio y confirmatorio ofrecen soporte empírico al modelo de 3 dimensiones, aportando a la adaptación y validación de la escala “Age Universal” I-E-12 en el contexto argentino. | es-ES |
| dc.description | Since the pioneering work of Allport and Ross (1967) religious orientations began to be studied empirically. Initially 2 orientations were observed: extrinsic and intrinsic. However, confirmatory factor analysis later revealed that the extrinsic orientation consisted of 2 dimensions: social extrinsic and personal extrinsic (Gorsuch & McPherson, 1989; Kirkpatrick, 1989; Maltby, 2002). In order to explore the dimensionality of religious orientations, a validation of the "Age Universal" I-E Scale (Maltby, 2002) was conducted in the Argentinian context. Respondents were 288 college students of both sexes at a Buenos Aires university, purposively selected. The selection criterion was to consider themselves religious. The present findings, obtained through exploratory and confirmatory factorial analyses, provide empirical support to the three-dimensional model and contribute to the adaptation and validation of the "Age Universal" I-E-12 scale for the Argentinian context. | en-US |
