Abstract
Clarice Lispector, in her stories, offers a unique take on animal lives presenting the reader with a look onto their agency as well as their subjectivity. This can be perceived in the short story "Urna galinha" as well as in the book A vida íntima de Laura. In both of these texts, the author presents ecocritical themes that were somewhat uncommonly seen around the release of said texts in the 60s and 70s. Nonetheless, as innovative as Lispector's take on animal subjectivity can be seen, such depiction is still framed within the context of mankind and its dominance over animals Clarice Lispector ofrece al lector una mirada muy específica acerca de la singularidad de los animales, de su agencia bien como de su subjetividad.
