| dc.description | Using a qualitative approach, we described the way in which nonspecific chronic Iow back pain patients perceive their characteristic cognitive and emotional processes, in relation to vital problems and back pain. It stands out the presence of suffcring, associated to past events, and the use of avoidance coping strategies. These processes differ from those prevailing in patients with specific or serious back problems. Our results provide a contribution to the identification of psychological aspects involved in the chronification of Iow back pain. | en-US |
| dc.description | Usando metodología cualitativa, describimos la forma en la que pacientes con lumbago crónico inespecífico perciben sus procesos cognitivo-afectivos más característicos, con relación a problemas vitales y al dolor lumbar. En estos pacientes se destaca la vigencia de vivencias de sufrimiento asociadas a eventos pasados y la presencia de estrategias de afrontamiento de tipo evitativo, tanto frente a problemas en general como al dolor lumbar. Estos procesos se diferencian de los que reportan como predominantes pacientes que también sufren dolor lumbar, pero debido a patologías espinales específicas. Nuestros resultados son un aporte a la identificación de los aspectos psicológicos involucrados en la cronificación del lumbago. | es-ES |
