| dc.description | The aim of this paper is to critically review the theory of Bootstrappping as stated by Susan Carey in order to explain conceptual change in psychology of development. The first section explains the results ofher research on biological theories ofchildhood, then, the use of philosophy of science in her investigations. Next, the various forms of conceptual change are assessed. Subsequently, the paper particularly presents the dynamics of bootstrapping process for biological ideas and its extent to the acquisition of whole numbers. Finally, the importance and meaning of bootstrapping is analyzed with regard to cognitive psychology and Piagetian dialectics. | en-US |
| dc.description | Este trabajo examina críticamente la teoría del Bootstrapping, formulada por Susan Carey para explicar el cambio conceptual en la psicología del desarrollo. En primer lugar, se exponen los resultados de sus investigaciones sobre el conocimiento biológico de los niños, luego se analiza la utilización de la filosofía de la ciencia en sus estudios; a continuación se establecen las modalidades del cambio conceptual. Más tarde, se presenta centralmente la dinámica del proceso de bootstrapping para las ideas biológicas yse la extiende a la adquisición de los números enteros. Finalmente, se evalúa el alcance y el significado del bootstrapping respecto de la psicología cognitiva y la dialéctica piagetiana. | es-ES |
