| dc.description | For a long time, both psychology and the management sciences have ignored the intellectual dimension of work—related activities. On the one hand, psychology promoted a one—dimensional and static notion of intelligence that did not take into account the contextual and practical aspects of work—related human skills. On the Other hand, management science championed a distinction between those units in charge of intellectual planning and those others related to practical implementation. By reviewing different conceptions and applications of the construct of practical intelligence to work— related activities, this afticle calls attention to both the intellectual dimension of working practices and the ways they can be studied by the psychological sciences. | en-US |
| dc.description | Durante mucho tiempo, la psicología y la ciencia de la administración han desatendido la riqueza intelectual de la actividad laboral. Por un lado, la psicología desarrolló un concepto unidimensional y estático de la inteligencia que no consideró los aspectos prácticos y contextuales de las habilidades intelectuales en el mundo del trabajo. Por otro lado, la ciencia de la administración propugnó una distinción entre aquellas unidades encargadas de la planificación intelectual y aquellas encargadas de la implementación práctica. Mediante una revisión de diferentes concepciones y aplicaciones del constructo de inteligencia práctica al mundo del trabajo, el presente aftículo pretende llamar la atención sobre la dimensión intelectual de las prácticas laborales y los modos en que ellas pueden ser estudiadas por la psicología. | es-ES |
