The evaluation of an intervention program oriented to promote the well-being of adolescent mothers and their children is presented. The study compared a sample of 30 participants with a group of 30 nonparticipant mothers and their children. The Beck Depression Inventory, Rosenberg's Self-esteem Scale, and Procidano and Heller's Perceived Social Support Scale were used in the assessment of the mothers; children were evaluated with E.E.D.P. and TEPSI. The data support the impact of the program on infant's development but not on children older than 2 years. There were no significant differences on psychosocial well-being between participant and nonparticipant mothers.
