| dc.description | This paper presents partial results from a research project on the academics in the Agrarian University System in Argentina. The results are based on a questionnaire that was responded by 793 professors. We identified metaphorical concepts that teachers chose from a selection of options to define the role of university teachers in general, and secondly, open metaphorical expressions the teachers coined to refer totheir own roles. As a conclusion, we identified an idealized representation that coincides with the most usual metaphors in education. On the other hand, these idealized representations we identify as an “ethos”, contrast with other representations that result from the formulation of their own metaphors to allude to a tension between the ethos and the realization of their own roles. | en-US |
| dc.description | Este trabajo presenta los resultados parciales generados en el marco de una investigación sobre los académicos en el sistema universitario agrario en la Argentina. Se analizan los resultados de un cuestionario que fue respondido por 793 docentes. Se identificaron conceptos metafóricos con los que los docentes-investigadores describen, por un lado, el rol de los docentes universitarios en general y, por otro lado, su rol en particular a partir de expresiones metafóricas propias. Como conclusiones, se distingue una percepción idealizada del rol docente que puede compararse a otras metáforas comunes en la educación. Esta visión idealizada -que identificamos como un “ethos” -contrasta con otras visiones que surgen a partir de la formulación de las metáforas propias que aluden a una tensión entre el deber ser y la realización del propio rol. | es-ES |
