dc.description	Impact of nutritional labeling on the behavior of consumers of the IV Region, Chile This study analyzes the impact of the implementation of the nutritional labeling system in processed foods from the consumer perspective, in the IV Region of Chile.The new nutritional labeling that, since June 2016, in a compulsory manner and accordance with Law No. 20,606 incorporates the octagonal seal on the front of packaged foods that exceed the regulated limits, is a fairly recent public policy and of the which there are no studies in the area regarding the result it has had and whether it has fulfilled the purpose for which it was issued. Based on this misinformation, the main objective was describing the possible changes that the new labeling has induced in consumers’ purchasing decisions. The information to be obtained is to determine the level of understanding of the population regarding nutrition labeling, evaluating the knowledge that consumers have regarding the seal, how they interpret this warning sign and finally how this information affects their purchase decision. To do this, 400 random surveys were carried out. The results obtained indicate that the pattern of food consumption or eating habits is not changing, that is, the nutritional labeling has little influence on the purchase decision of consumers.	en-US
dc.description	El presente estudio analiza el impacto de la implementación del sistema de etiquetado nutricional en los alimentos procesados desde la perspectiva del consumidor, en la IV Región de Chile. El nuevo etiquetado nutricional que, desde Junio del 2016, de manera obligatoria y de acuerdo a la Ley N° 20.606 incorpora el sello octagonal en la parte frontal de los alimentos envasados que sobrepasen los límites reglamentados, es una política pública bastante reciente y de la cual no existen estudios en la zona respecto al resultado que ha tenido y si ésta ha cumplido con el propósito por la cual fue dictaminada. En base a esta desinformación, el principal objetivo de esta investigación es describir los posibles cambios que ha inducido el nuevo etiquetado en la decisión de compra de los consumidores. La información que se pretende obtener es determinar el nivel de entendimiento de la población respecto al etiquetado nutricional, evaluando el conocimiento que tienen los consumidores respecto al sello, cómo interpretan este signo de advertencia y finalmente cómo incide esta información en su decisión de compra. Se realizaron 400 encuestas de manera aleatoria. Los resultados obtenidos indican que el patrón de consumo de alimentos o hábitos alimenticios no está cambiando, es decir, el etiquetado nutricional influye poco en la decisión de compra de los consumidores.	es-ES
