The features of the new writing and communication used within on line interactivity confront the theorists in communication and education with a greatly demanding task. The new generations will benefit the most from new technologies. However, it has to be seen whether those benefits will mostly reward economically those trading with the market of information or whether this information will also democratise the access to culture and knowledge. The importante of taking advantage of the opportunities offered by the information and communication technologies for the regeneration of social and educational development has to be acknowledged. This presupposes identifying the ways in which the uses and services of telecommunications and data transmission must be developed to make them more accessible to all, but also to continue the conceptual and theoretical clarification of the cultural and educational effects of old, modem and post-industrial technologies.Las características de la nueva escritura y comunicación que se utiliza en la interactividad on line presenta una gran cantidad de solicitaciones para el teórico de la comunicación y de la educación.  Las nuevas generaciones serán las más beneficiadas por las nuevas tecnologías, aunque está por ver si esos beneficios serán prevalentemente económicos para los operadores del mercado de la información o si también servirán para democratizar el acceso a la cultura y al saber. No se puede desconocer la estratégica importancia de la explotación de las oportunidades que ofrecen las tecnologías de la información y de la comunicación para la regeneración del desarrollo social y educativo. Esto presupone identificar las formas en que se deben desarrollar las aplicaciones y servicios de las telecomunicaciones y la telemática para que sea más accesible a todos, pero también avanzar en la clarificación conceptual y teórica de los efectos culturales y educativos de las tecnologías antiguas, modernas y posindustriales.
