dc.descriptionGreen buildings are constructed mainly using sustainable materials which create healthy environment inside the building by reduced product emissions. The introduction of the translucent concrete into green buildings created a new innovation in sustainable construction. The ability to introduce refined natural lighting whereas maintaining privacy provides large environmental benefits additionally to its aesthetic ones, as well as reducing the cost of heating and lighting. The aim of the paper is a detailed study on the current status and past studies in the area of translucent concrete. Anyway, this new building material is in its developing stage and it has a wide scope in the future.
