Ópera y nacionalismo en Latinoamérica: lo irracional como ideología a través de hegemonías complejas

| dc.description | Between the second half of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century, we find an important list of operas created by Latin American composers, among which a large number of nationalist styles stand out. Considering these works, the present work aims to recognize the complexity of the hegemony regarding Latin American opera as a cultural phenomenon, as well as the irrational-rational tension that makes this company possible. According to the analysis of works, they are mainly divided into two groups: those that narrate independence or state construction and those that identify indigenous or subordinate figures to confirm identity, both national and continental. At the end of the article, it is recognized that Latin American opera responds to complex power relations and national and international hegemonies, which make effective, on the one hand, the feeling of community and, on the other, that of national and identity identities. | en-US |
| dc.description | Entre la segunda mitad del siglo XIX y el comienzo del siglo XX, encontramos una lista importante de óperas creadas por compositores latinoamericanos, entre las que destaca un gran número de corte nacionalista. Considerando estas obras, el presente trabajo tiene como objetivo reconocer la complejidad de la hegemonía referente a la ópera latinoamericana como fenómeno cultural, así como de la tensión irracional-racional que hace posible esta empresa. Según el análisis de obras, están divididas principalmente en dos grupos: las que narran la independencia o la construcción del Estado y las que utilizan figuras indígenas o subalternas para confirmar la identidad, tanto nacional como continental. Al concluir el artículo, se reconoce que la ópera latinoamericana responde a relaciones de poder y hegemonías complejas, nacionales e internacionales, las que hacen efectivo, por un lado, el sentimiento de comunidad y, por otro, el de reivindicación nacional e identitaria. | es-ES |
