| dc.description | Joaquín Larraín Gandarillas was a 19th century educator. He believed that every professional had to be integrally formed because of her/his human condition. Therefore, he designed an educational system that had included both intellectual will and feelings formation. While elementary school was similar to all social groups, high school prepared students to choose professions within economic, scientific, technical, and humanistic areas. As a priest and citizen of a catholic nation, Joaquín Gandarillas assumed both moral and religious formation. | en-US |
| dc.description | Joaquín Larraín Gandarillas fue un educador destacado del siglo XIX; consideró que todo profesional es primordialmente un hombre y, como tal, debe ser formado integralmente. Por lo cual diseñó un sistema educativo que incluía la formación de la voluntad del intelecto y del sentimiento. Durante el nivel primario se establecería el fundamento similar en todos los grupos sociales y en el nivel secundario se podrían sentar las bases para elegir la profesión. Esta se lograría en el nivel de la educación superior y debería ofrecer oportunidades a quienes eligieran su profesión en un área económica, técnica, científica y humanística. Como sacerdote y ciudadano de una nación católica presupuestaba la formación moral y religiosa. | es-ES |
