The author recalls the origins and the development in France, starting from its creation in 1967, of the university discipline called “sciences of education”. He shows that philosophy, excluded in the title itself, has asserted itself little by little through questions of anthropological nature which arose inevitable, and do not cease being reached in the field of education. He advances the idea that, structurally, the reflexion concerning education cannot escape including the philosophical dimension.El autor recuerda las condiciones del nacimiento y desarrollo en Francia, a partir de su creación en 1967, de la asignatura universitaria llamada “ciencias de la educación”.  Señala que la filosofía, excluida en el mismo título, poco a poco ha ido imponiéndose a través de las cuestiones de tipo antropológico que vinieron planteándose de manera imprescindible y no dejan de plantearse a la educación. Propone la idea de que, estructuralmente, la reflexión sobre educación no puede prescindir de la dimensión filosófica.
