This paper examines the progressiveness principie of the International Law of Human Rights and its impact in the Jurisprudence of the Inter-American Court of Human Rights. Progressiveness implies the constant and permanent development of International Law of Human Rights, some sort of mínimum and irreversible right that only allows improvements, and never a returning point. This constant activity is translated to the improvement of the protection standards through the study of Law of the international courts of human rights. Its aim is to analyze the content and scope of progressiveness and some criteria elaborated by the Inter-American Court of Human Rights starting from this feature.El trabajo aborda el carácter progresivo del Derecho Internacional de los Derechos Humanos y su impacto en la Jurisprudencia de la Corte IDH. La progresividad implica el desarrollo constante y permanente del Derecho Internacional de los Derechos Humanos, una suerte de derecho mínimo e irreversible, que solo admite avances y mejoras, nunca una vuelta atrás. Esta actividad constante se traduce en la práctica en el mejoramiento de los estándares de protección a través de la actividad jurisprudencial de los tribunales internacionales de derechos humanos. Se propone analizar el contenido y alcance de la progresividad y algunos criterios elaborados por la Corte IDH a partir de este carácter.
