The results of an investigation whose objective was to propose ways of resignifying the Convention on the Rights of the Child in the light of Az Mapu (Mapuche normative system) are presented. The methodology used was mixed, and was carried out through Mapuche mechanisms for collecting and analyzing information. Also, it was accompanied with bibliographical revision and dogmatic analysis, identifying the strong topoi that are contained in the Convention and in Az Mapu. The results show that intercultural dialogue is possible between the two systems, through the principle of child’s best interest/well being, which is operationalized due to the status granted to / picike ce (little person) on the Mapuche society.Se presentan los resultados de una investigación cuyo objetivo fue proponer vías para resignificar la Convención sobre los Derechos del Niño a la luz del Az Mapu (sistema normativo Mapuche). La metodología utilizada fue de tipo mixta, y se realizó principalmente a través de mecanismos propios Mapuche de recolección y análisis de la información, así como también, de una revisión bibliográfica y de un análisis dogmático, identificando los topoi fuertes presentes en la Convención y en el Az Mapu. Los resultados demuestran que el diálogo intercultural es posible entre ambos sistemas, a través del principio de interés/bienestar superior, el que se operativiza debido al estatus de persona que tienen los y las picike ce (personas pequeñas) dentro de la sociedad Mapuche.
