| dc.description | En el presente artículo propongo una lectura crítica de la constitución de género y clase de dos personajes masculinos presentes en Hijo de ladrón (1951) de Manuel Rojas. Los personajes González e Ipinza, junto con ser dos tipos masculinos contraejemplares, están representados empleando recursos estéticos propios de la literatura cómica, entendida en la variante definida por Bajtín. Esta dimensión cómica actualizada bebe de fuentes arcaicas y permite al narrador (una de las voces refractadas del artista-autor) realizar una operación irónica y crítica en la que se pueden percibir elementos políticos claros que apuntan a una ética particular de los personajes. La ética, el modo de operar y de darse los personajes masculinos posibilitan una lectura que comprende sus particularidades como metonimias y alegorías de tipos masculinos históricos (referenciales) y del funcionamiento del entramado patriarcal, capitalista y liberal de inicios del siglo XX sudamericano (Chile y Argentina). | es-ES |
| dc.description | In this article I propose a critical reading of the gender and class constitution of two male characters present in Manuel Rojas’ Hijo de ladrón (1951). The characters González and Ipinza, along with being two counter-exemplary male types, are represented using typical aesthetic resources of comic literature, understood in the variant defined by Bakhtin. This updated comic dimension draws from archaic sources and allows the narrator (one of the refracted voices of the artist-author) to carry out an ironic and critical operation in which political elements that point to a particular ethic of the characters can be perceived. The ethics, the way of acting and giving of the male characters allow a reading that understands their particularities as metonymies and allegories of referential historical male types and the functioning of the patriarchal, capitalist, and liberal framework of the early South American 20th century (Chile and Argentina). | en-US |
