During 2018, the Faculty of Arts of the University of Chile implemented a pilot project to strengthen socio-emotional skills in students of municipal educational establishments in the Isla de Maipo commune, within the framework of a collaboration agreement with the Corporation of the commune. This article presents a description of the stages of design, implementation and intermediate evaluation of the Isla de Maipo Educational Project (PEIM), which was characterized by a methodological strategy focused on artistic work in the classroom as a tool to promote socio-emotional learning in and the students, through the incorporation of artistic facilitators who worked from a co-teaching approach with the professors of each educational establishment. From the work carried out, it was possible to identify that the incorporation of artistic strategies into the classroom was positively received by the students, expanding their expressive repertoire and favoring the effectiveness of their communication. In addition, for teachers this allowed generating a space for reflection on their own work and, in the case of first cycle courses and artistic subjects, the implemented strategies enriched the pedagogical practices with innovative ideas. Finally, although the project was implemented in a wide variety of subjects, the teachers considered that their contribution would be especially useful in those that are not artistic.en-US
