The world-wide tendencies related to tendencies in higher education lead not only to their privatization but in addition to their massiveness. In this context, and from quantitative data, it is possible to appreciate the increase of the educative offer in Social Work as well as Social Service which opens the discussion not only on the conditions of employability of graduate professionals but in addition, it evidences the increase of the number of programs of Social Work as well as Social Service over other related professions. This tendency might respond to diverse variables; among them the costs of implementation of the profession, the conditions that influence the professional choice and the efficiency of the program as to graduation date.Las tendencias mundiales relativas a la educación superior marcan no sólo su privatización, sino además su masificación. En este contexto, y a partir de los datos cuantitativos, es posible apreciar el incremento de la oferta educativa en Trabajo o Servicio Social, lo que abre la discusión no sólo sobre las condiciones de empleabilidad de los profesionales titulados, sino además, pone en evidencia el incremento del número de programas de Servicio o Trabajo Social, por sobre el de otras carreras afines. Esta tendencia podrí­a responder a diversas variables; entre ellas, los costos de implementación de la carrera, las condicionantes de género que influyen la elección profesional y la eficiencia de titulación de la carrera.
