The high school constitutes a space of conflictive coexistence, often little propitious for the exercise of the citizenship of young students. Nevertheless, diverse proposals of taking over this problem, considering the central elements of the communitarian work as the professional intervention of Social Work, are possible to implement in this educational environment. Into this sense, the high school can be transformed and be positioned as a space of socialization, learning, and development of an effective citizen culture. The author deepens on these aspects in this article.El Liceo constituye un espacio de convivencia conflictivo, muchas veces poco propicio para el ejercicio de la ciudadaní­a de los jóvenes estudiantes. Sin embargo, diversas propuestas de abordaje de este problema, rescatando los elementos centrales del trabajo comunitario como intervención profesional del Trabajo Social, son posibles de implementar en este espacio educativo. En este sentido, el Liceo puede transformarse y posicionarse como un lugar de socialización, aprendizaje y desarrollo de una cultura ciudadana efectiva.
