dc.description	Mining has been going on for many years specifically in Portovelo canton of the province of El Oro in Ecuador, this practice is born in Curipamba (land of gold). To carry out the historical and cultural characterization that Portovelo town has undergone is used the methodology based on thematic maps, whose objective is to know the transition that the sector has had due to extractive activities through the ARGIS tool and in addition with records adapted to the present work, with the purpose of identifying and recovering the infrastructure, history and traditions as an alternative for development.	en-US
dc.description	La extracción minera se ha dado por muchos años específicamente en el cantón Portovelo de la provincia de El Oro en el Ecuador, dicha práctica nace en Curipamba (tierra de oro). Para realizar la caracterización histórica y cultural que ha sufrido el cantón Portovelo se emplea la metodología basada en mapas temáticos, cuyo objetivo es conocer la transición que ha tenido el sector debido a las actividades extractivas mediante la herramienta de ARGIS y en complemento con fichas adaptadas al presente trabajo, con el propósito de identificar y recuperar la infraestructura, historia y tradiciones como alternativa de desarrollo.	es-ES
