The television news are the preferred medium through which people gain information about their social environment and come to constitute a representation of the same. This is due to that it consider that news reports accurately reflect what is happening in society, which are as mirrors which projected what actually happens in the outside world. This paper presents the results of an investigation that aimed to describe the strategies of veridiccion that are deployed within the newsreels, ie. what operations are carried out to present speeches of newsreels as factual statements, as speeches of truth. Therefore resorted to the analysis of a case, that coverage and social relevance, it is exemplary: the crime and the figure of the offender.Los noticiarios televisivos constituyen el medio preferido a través del cual las personas obtienen información acerca de su entorno social y llegan a constituir una representación del mismo. Lo anterior se debe a que se considera que los noticiarios reflejan fielmente lo que ocurre en la sociedad, que son como espejos que proyectan lo que realmente ocurre en el mundo exterior. Esta ponencia presenta los resultados de una investigación que tuvo como propósito describir las estrategias de veridicción que se despliegan al interior de los noticiarios, es decir, qué operaciones son llevadas a cabo para presentar los discursos de los noticiarios como discursos factuales, como discursos de verdad. Para ello, se recurrió al análisis de un caso que, por la cobertura y su relevancia social, resulta ejemplar: la delincuencia y la figura del delincuente.
