| dc.description | The essay focuses on Don Quijote in the perspective of the intense and variegated exercise of the will that characterizes the knight-errant. Cervantes' protagonist has decided for himself to change his life and give himself a new one freely chosen. Without hesitation, he makes ready to emerge in the world as other than he used to be. And, in fact, his voluntary determination is so strong that nothing nor any body can affect his free decision. The sense of his sudden conversión leads him to fight against different evils and their unpunished agents. His decision to overcome the enemies in accordance with the chivalry model, includes also the winning of the everlasting fame that comes to the wandering knights in his favorite novels. The election of this model of existence obliges him to adopt all the rules of living and morality proper to the chivalric code, overcoming thus his own will. Riding haphazard will be his sole protection to prevent the least slipping in the high ideals which he has implosed upon himself. | en-US |
| dc.description | El ensayo enfoca a don Quijote desde el punto de vista del variado e intenso ejercicio de la voluntad que lo caracteriza; el protagonista de Cervantes decide por sí mismo cambiar de vida y darse una existencia nueva elegida libremente. Procede, sin vacilar, a preparar su salida al mundo como otro del que solía ser. Y, en efecto, su determinación voluntaria es tan poderosa que nada ni nadie lo separa de su determinación primera. El sentido de su brusca conversión es luchar contra diversos males y contra los agentes que lo practican mpunemente. Decidido a vencer a los enemigos según el modelo caballeresco, busca también lograr la fama imperecedera del tipo que conquistan los andantes de sus novelas favoritas. La elección del modelo de existencia lo obliga a adoptar todas las regla de vida y la moral caballeresca, sometiéndose así a su propia voluntad. Cabalgando a la ventura ha de velar sobre sí para no apartarse un ápice de los ideales que se ha autoimpuesto. | es-ES |
