That critical architectural reflection is in trouble at the national level is not a mystery to any attentive observer. This article proposes some causes of the supposed “capitulation” of criticism. If it seems like gibberish that many take advantage of, but where few show their competence, it is due to a series of intellectual, disciplinary and sociocultural conditions that favor the lack of commitment and emptiness of the plot. Under a tangled national disciplinary context, with difficulties to influence the debate as it is 'suffocated' between the 'scientism' of academic publications and the arbitrariness of the networks, it is shown how the questioning, discrediting and servility of criticism has place today: being the prey of a convenient neutrality, of rejection and, even, of an apparent ignorance. Acknowledging this would help, by contrast, to suggest the need to value a specific, accurate and committed critical reflection.Que la reflexión crítica arquitectónica no está atravesando un buen momento a nivel nacional, no es un misterio para cualquier observador atento. Este artículo propone algunas causas de la supuesta ‘capitulación’ de la crítica. Si ella parece un galimatías del que muchos sacan partido, pero donde pocos muestran su competencia, se debe a una serie de condiciones intelectuales, disciplinares y socioculturales que favorecen la falta de compromiso y vacuidad argumental. Bajo un contexto disciplinar nacional enmarañado, con dificultades para incidir en el debate al estar ‘asfixiado’ entre el ‘cientifismo’ de las publicaciones académicas y la arbitrariedad de las redes, se pretende evidenciar cómo la puesta en entredicho, el descrédito y el servilismo de la crítica tiene lugar hoy, siendo presa de una conveniente neutralidad, del rechazo e, incluso, de una aparente ignorancia. Reconocer esto ayudaría, por oposición, a sugerir la necesidad de poner en valor una reflexión crítica específica, certera y comprometida.
