In 2002, the Foguangshan Buddhist Temple was inaugurated in the Talagante precinct, Santiago. With the aim of teaching and introducing the Dharma taught by Xingyun, the founder of Humanist Buddhism in Taiwan, the nuns in charge of the temple carry out a series of Buddhist and cultural activities. The adaptability of a Buddhism that defines itself as a globalizer will be a fundamental factor for its insertion in Chilean society. However, other social factors, such as the general conception of Buddhism in Chilean people and the rejection of religious institutions, influence the commitment Foguangshan requires for his stay in the country. | en-US |

En 2002 se inaugura el templo budista Foguangshan en la comuna de Talagante, Santiago, Chile. Con el objetivo de enseñar e introducir el Dharma que enseña el fundador de la corriente del Budismo Humanista en Taiwán, el maestro Xingyun, las monjas taiwanesas a cargo del templo llevan a cabo una serie de actividades budistas y culturales. La capacidad de adaptación de un budismo que se autodefine como globalizador será un factor fundamental para su inserción en la sociedad chilena. Sin embargo, otros factores sociales, como la concepción general en torno al budismo en los chilenos y el rechazo a las instituciones religiosas influirán en el compromiso que Foguangshan requiere para su permanencia en el país. | es-ES |
