dc.descriptionThe aim of this descriptive research was to study the Health Locus of Control (Infernal, Chance and Other Powerful) in Housewive-leaders using the Multidimensional Scale of Wallston, Wallston and De Vellis, and the Health Promotion Behavior with the scale of Health Promotion Lifestyles from Walker, Sechrist and Pender.Findings showed up the highest average obtained in the Infernal Health Locus of Control. The 51% of the housewive-leaders had negative Health Promotion Behaviors. Significant differences were found with marital status, family size and schooling related to Infernal Health Locus of Control; and schooling was found significant with other Powerful Health Locus of Control. Health Promotion Behaviors and significant related variables were: Self-actualization with marital status, family size and schooling ; Health Responsibility with marital status and schooling; Stress Management with marital status, occupation and schooling. Pearson Correlation Analysis showed a significant positive relation with the Internal Locus of Control and the Health Responsability and Nutrition, and negative relation with Self-actualization and Interpersonal support. Positive relation was also found with other Powerful Locus of Control and Stress Management.en-US
dc.descriptionEstudio descriptivo cuyo propósito fue estudiar en Mujeres Jefas de Hogar el Locus de Control de Salud (Interno, Casualidad y Otros Poderosos) medido con la Escala Multidimensional de Wallston, Wallston y DeVellis, y Conductas Promotoras de Salud, con la escala Estilos de Vida Promotor de Salud de Walker, Sechrist y Pender. Los resultados indican el mayor puntaje en el Locus de Control de Salud Interno. El 51 % de las Mujeres tuvo Conductas Promotoras de Salud negativas. Significación estadística para el Locus de Control de Salud Interno tuvo el estado marital, tamaño de la familia y escolaridad; esta última variable también tuvo significación con el Locus de Control de Salud de Otros Poderosos. Las Conductas Promotoras de Salud y las variables relacionadas significativamente fueron: Autorrealización con estado marital; Tamaño de la familia y escolaridad; Responsabilidad en Salud con estado marital y escolaridad; Nutrición con estado marital, ocupación y escolaridad; y Manejo del Estrés con estado marital y escolaridad.El análisis de Correlación r Pearson mostró relación significativa positiva entre Locus de Control Interno y las dimensiones Responsabilidad de Salud y Nutrición, y relación negativa con Auto-realización y Apoyo Interpersonal. Hubo relación positiva entre Locus de Control de Otros Poderosos y Manejo del Estrés.es-ES
