In this essay, I argue that in John Searle's social ontology there is a virtuous circle between cooperation, institutions, and deontic powers. That is, these are categories that mutually feed on and strengthen in the social reality. In the first section, I introduce to the concepts and problems discussed here, while in the second I expound the abc of Searle’s social ontology. In the third section, I discuss how institutions are linked to social practices, that is, how the former synthesizes the existence of the latter. For without institutions certain practices would not exist, because certain social practices necessarily lead to the creation of institutions. Finally, in the last section, I argue about the existence of a virtuous circle between cooperation (and trust), institutions and deontic powers. In other words, I maintain that there is a phenomenon of mutual feedback and strengthening, in so far as the existence of one category fosters the existence of the other categories.En este ensayo argumento que, en la ontología social de John Searle, existe un círculo virtuoso entre la cooperación, las instituciones y los poderes deónticos. Son categorías de la realidad social que se retroalimentan y fortalecen mutuamente. La primera sección es introductoria a los conceptos y problemas aquí tratados, mientras que la segunda versa sobre el abecé de la ontología social. En la tercera sección abordo cómo las instituciones están ligadas a prácticas sociales; es decir, las primeras de alguna manera sintetizan la existencia de las segundas. Sin instituciones no podría haber ciertas prácticas, y estas necesariamente llevan a la creación de instituciones. Finalmente, en la última sección argumento acerca de la existencia de un círculo virtuoso entre la cooperación (y la confianza), las instituciones y los poderes deónticos en la realidad social. Es decir, sostengo que existe un fenómeno de retroalimentación y de fortalecimiento mutuo, en tanto la existencia de una categoría fortalece la existencia de las demás categorías.
