| dc.description | Burns is a life-threatening challenge for health services and especially for the anesthesiologist. During the evolution of this disease, the patient will undergo hemodynamic and metabolic changes that will influence our management and the decisions of the anesthetic plan. Adequate fluid management is essential in the first hours of resuscitation, and underdosing or overdosing has significant risks in terms of morbidity and mortality in these patients. The evaluation and management of the airway will require special attention since the anatomical distortions and the risk of inhalation injury will lead to obstruction, distress, and respiratory insufficiency of rapid installation if not appropriately treated. The painful stimulus they experience will have a high risk of developing chronicity. Multimodal therapies will be crucial for their adequate treatment. | dc.description | Las quemaduras corresponden a una amenaza para la vida y son un desafío para los servicios de salud y en especial para el anestesiólogo. Durante la evolución de esta enfermedad el paciente cursará con cambios hemodinámicos y metabólicos que influirán en nuestro manejo y en las decisiones del plan anestésico. El adecuado manejo de fluidos es esencial en las primeras horas de reanimación y la sub o sobredosificación tiene riesgos importantes en la morbimortalidad de estos pacientes. La evaluación y manejo de la vía aérea tendrá una especial atención pues las distorsiones anatómicas y el riesgo de injuria inhalatoria conllevarán al riesgo de obstrucción, distrés e insuficiencia respiratoria de rápida instalación de no actuar adecuadamente. El estímulo doloroso que experimentarán tendrá un alto riesgo de desarrollo de cronicidad por lo que terapias multimodales serán cruciales para su adecuado tratamiento. En esta revisión se desarrollarán las principales consideraciones del punto de vista anestésico del paciente gran quemado. | es-ES |
