| dc.description | Chaco WaThis article is an analysis of Chile’s diplomatic efforts during the Chaco War, during which Chile acted as a mediator alongside other American countries. We argue that, although Chile’s primary focus was to seek peace, it was also an opportunity for Chilean diplomacy to improve its standing in the continent, using the peace negotiations to improve Chile’s relations with Peru and Bolivia, as well as to attempt to constrain Argentina’s influence in the region. | en-US |
