| dc.description | This paper seeks to elaborate on the fundamental aspects of Paraguay's participation in the multilateral trade system and its future challenges, with the purpose of achieving a more in-depth understanding of the ways in which this initiative has benefitted the country. For this purpose, bibliographic-documentary research at a descriptive level is used, combining the analytical and synthetic methods. The article initially presents the institutional aspects of the WTO, and subsequently delves into Paraguay's participation in this organization. This is analyzed through its activity in different levels, a review of its commercial policies and the evolution of different indices. Finally, the challenges faced by the country in the framework of the Trade Facilitation Agreement negotiated in 2013 are presented. | en-US |
| dc.description | Este trabajo busca detallar los aspectos fundamentales de la participación de Paraguay en el sistema multilateral de comercio y sus desafíos futuros, con el propósito de conocer con mayor profundidad los resultados que le ha reportado esta iniciativa al país. Se recurre para ello a una investigación bibliográfica-documental de nivel descriptivo que combina el método analítico y sintético. El artículo presenta inicialmente los aspectos institucionales de la OMC para adentrarse posteriormente en la participación paraguaya en este organismo. La misma se analiza a través de su actividad en los distintos estamentos, la revisión de sus políticas comerciales y la evolución de distintos índices. Finalmente, se plantean los desafíos a los que tiene que hacer frente el país en el marco del Acuerdo de Facilitación del Comercio negociado en 2013. | es-ES |
