dc.descriptionAfricaAt the beginning of the 21st Century, marked by globalization and multilateralism, there is a new geopolitical and geoeconomic configuration, a result of the current economic crisis, with a consequent reduction in First World country consumption and foreign investment capacity. With the decline in the financial flow between the North and South, South-South trade relations prove to be an important tool for the development of emerging countries. For this reason, Brazilian diplomacy has strengthened in recent years commercial and political relations with non-traditional partners. Among South-South relations, the relationship between Brazil and African countries has been given special attention to by Brazilian diplomacy during the last decade. As shown, ties between Brazil and Africa have deep historical roots, but in recent years this relationship has undergone a significant increase. In order to better interpret this phenomenon, this article aims to describe, in general terms and from the Brazilian perspective, the history of the ties between Brazil and Africa and to identify the main aspects of their contemporary relationship and the possible alternatives for the future of this partnership based on commercial, cooperation, political and humanitarian interests.en-US
dc.descriptionEn el inicio del siglo XXI, marcado por la globalización y el multilateralismo, hay una nueva configuración geopolítica y geoeconómica, que decanta en la actual crisis económica, con la consecuente reducción del consumo y de la capacidad de inversión extranjera de los países del Primer Mundo. Con la disminución en el flujo financiero entre los países del Norte y del Sur, las relaciones comerciales Sur-Sur resultan ser una herramienta importante para el desarrollo de los países emergentes. Por esto, la diplomacia brasileña fortaleció, en los últimos años, las relaciones comerciales y políticas con socios no tradicionales. Entre las relaciones Sur-Sur, la relación entre Brasil y los países africanos ha sido objeto de especial atención por parte de la diplomacia brasileña en esta última década. Como se demuestra, los vínculos Brasil-África tienen profundas raíces históricas, pero en los últimos años esa relación sufrió un significativo incremento. Para interpretar mejor este fenómeno, este artículo busca describir, en notas generales, la historia de los lazos entre Brasil y África, desde la perspectiva brasileña, así como señalar los principales aspectos de las relaciones contemporáneas y alternativas posibles para el futuro de esta asociación de intereses comerciales, de cooperación, políticos y humanitarios.es-ES
