This article examines the transgressive figure of Magdalena Camacho “La camarones”, who due to her superstitious practices embodied the profile of the unorthodox female who moves outside of patriarchal structures. Recognized by those who knew her well as a great witch, Camacho fluctuated between a constantly transgressive everyday existence and imaginaries based on prejudice and stigma. She was tried before the Inquisition from 1662 to 1664 in Lima, and her case file exemplifies situations, in which the protagonists are not the people on trial, but the spell they cast. Estrangement, the search for love, social or economic wellbeing were just some of the conflicts that Camacho resolved with her spells.En el siguiente artículo, describiremos y analizaremos la figura trasgresora de Magdalena Camacho, la Camarones, quien a través de sus prácticas supersticiosas personificó un perfil femenino heterodoxo y alejado de las normas. Reconocida por su entorno cercano como una gran hechicera, fluctuó entre una cotidianidad quebrantada constantemente y unos imaginarios creados sobre la base de prejuicios y estigmatizaciones. Procesada por la Inquisición entre los años 1662 y 1664 en la ciudad de Lima, su expediente ejemplifica una serie de situaciones en las cuales no son los sujetos los protagonistas, sino los hechizos que ejecuta. El desafecto, la búsqueda del amor, el bienestar social o económico fueron solo algunos de los conflictos que solucionó con sus acciones.
