| dc.description | Spatial experience is a key phenomenon in a person's relationship with the world and is an essential concept for those designing living spaces. Here, the objective is to theoretically define spatial experience from conceptualizing the human being as sensorium, which is conditioned by culture and in turn contributes to its definition. The research problem is to understand the relationship between perception and spatial experience, in the corporeal dimension and orientation in the world and in the existential dimension when inhabiting. The strategy was to resort to the texts of the founding authors of the concepts: sensorium, perception and experience from the phenomenological perspective and totexts that neuroscience offers to approach an understanding of the cognitive processes of perception and episodic memory; thus, analyze and integrate them; thereby propose a model for understanding the spatial experience. In this way, three stages in the spatial experience are identified: the sensory, the perceptual and the existential; the experience was established by theinterrelation between the corporeality that constitutes the sensorium and the being-beingconstituted by the consciousness, the cognitiveprocesses and the culture of the subject in a space-time. | en-US |
| dc.description | La experiencia espacial es un fenómeno clave en la relación que las personas establecen con el mundo y es un concepto esencial para quienes diseñan los espacios habitables. El objetivo del siguiente artículo es definir teóricamente la experiencia espacial a partir del ser humano como sensorium, condicionado por la cultura a la que coadyuva en su propia definición. Se busca comprender la relación entre la percepción y la experiencia espacial, en el marco de la dimensión y orientación corpórea en el mundo y de la dimensión existencial al habitar. Para ello se analizaron textos de los autores fundacionales de los siguientes conceptos: sensorium, percepción y experiencia, desde la perspectiva fenomenológica. También se revisaron textos provenientes de la neurociencia, a fin de comprender los procesos cognitivos de percepción y memoria episódica, analizarlos e integrarlos para proponer un modelo de concebir la experiencia espacial. De esta manera, se identifican tres etapas en la experiencia espacial: la sensorial, la perceptual y la existencial. Es decir, la experiencia que surge desde la interrelación entre la corporalidad que constituye el sensorium y el ser-estar integrado por la conciencia, los procesos cognitivos y la cultura del sujeto en un espacio-tiempo. | es-ES |
