dc.descriptionThis paper analyzes the concepts of origin, ethnicity, nation, imaginary and gender in the discursive canon (Spencer 2009) of the Chilean cueca. My main goal is to show how these concepts introduce analytical categories that are not only present in the most important texts on gender, but also help to construct it. On the other hand, I wish to note the growth of the ideas of imaginary and gender. I use the idea of discursive canon to the case of the cueca, separating texts according to their approach. I also analyze the implied content of some of the aforementioned categories (authenticity, miscegenation, nationalism) and how they have contributed to essentialize the idea of cueca as a unitary and unalterable genre. I base my analysis on the concepts of textual category (Castelo Branco 2008) and on the difference between history as discourse (narration) and history as knowledge (Chartier 2007).en-US
dc.descriptionEl siguiente artículo analiza la presencia de los conceptos origen, etnia, nación, imaginario y género en el canon discursivo de la cueca chilena. El objetivo es mostrar, por un lado, el modo en que estos conceptos constituyen categorías analíticas que no sólo están presentes en los textos más importantes sobre el género, sino que también ayudan a construirlo. Por otro lado, quiero hacer notar el crecimiento de las ideas de imaginario y género cuya presencia constituye un elemento renovador y un vector de futuro para el estudio académico y etnográfico del género. Para desarrollar estas ideas recurroal concepto de canon discursivo y lo aplico al caso de la cueca, separando los textos según su enfoque. Analizo también el contenido implícito de algunas de las categorías mencionadas (autenticidad, mestizaje, nacionalismo) y el modo en que ha contribuido a esencializar la idea de cueca como género unitario e inmutable. Baso mi análisis en los conceptos de categoría textual (Castelo Branco 2008) y canon discursivo (Spencer 2009), así como en la diferencia entre historia como discurso (narración) e historia como saber de Chartier (2007).es-ES
