| dc.description | As many social dances, the dance of cueca is influenced by corporal practices that impacts over their choreographic and expressive form. However, discourses of national identity have tended to homogenize their elements through canons that seeks to represent the “national soul” in a corporeal way. This is how certain dancing bodies have been legitimized thanks to the incorporation of dominant aesthetic canons. In this article, I expose some of the aesthetic influences that have permeated the dancing bodies of cueca, with the aim of revealing on the one hand their staging processes and on the other hand the dynamic and changing character of this dance, which opposes the stable and rigid models imposed by the discursive canon of national identity. | en-US |
| dc.description | El baile de la cueca en Chile, al igual que muchos bailes sociales, se encuentran dentro de dinámicas de influjo de saberes y practicas corporales que actúan sobre sus formas coreográficas y expresivas en constante evolución. Sin embargo, los discursos de identidad nacional han tendido a homogeneizar las formas expresivas de la cueca a través de cánones que buscan representar de manera corpórea un “alma nacional”. Es así como ciertos cuerpos danzantes que han sido legitimados gracias a la incorporación de cánones estéticos dominantes. En este artículo intentaremos reflexionar sobre algunas de las influencias estéticas que han permeado a los cuerpos danzantes de cueca, con el objetivo de develar por una parte sus procesos de escenificación y por otra parte el carácter dinámico y cambiante de este baile, que se opone a los modelos estables y rígidos que impone el canon discursivo de identidad nacional. | es-ES |
