| dc.description | Mouthparts of females of 8 species of subgenera Scaptia (Pseudoscione) were examined by scanning electrón microscopy. Mandibles of female exhibit differences in variation in size and shape of teeth within a given species. The laciniae have differences in number of cuticular teeth and micropilosity. Labra of females have differences in shape, number and arrangement of apical microdenticles. The shape of hypopharynx of females is similar within of species, but there are differences in depth and pilosity of the salivary duct. A combination of these features distinguishes the female of each species. | en-US |
| dc.description | La armadura bucal de 8 especies del subgénero Scaptia (Pseudoscione) fue examinada bajo microscopio electrónico de barrido. Las mandíbulas muestran diferencias respecto del tamaño y forma de los dientes dentro de las especies estudiadas. La lacinia presenta diferencias en el número de los dientes cuticulares y la micropilosidad. El labro tiene diferencias en la forma, número y disposición de los microdientes apicales. La forma de la hipofaringe es similar dentro de las especies estudiadas, pero existen diferencias en la profundidad y pilosidad del ducto salival. La combinación de estas características permite distinguir a las hembras de estas especies. | es-ES |
