| dc.description | Despite its incomplete and partial character, the archaic Greek inscriptionsconstitute the oldest testimonies in relation to the emergence of law in Greece, bothin the public and private spheres.It is noteworthy that the first political and legal writings are practicallysimultaneous with the introduction of the alphabet in Greek cities. The appearanceof writing brought with it various consequences, such as the codification of usefulexperiences in social life, the organization of political activity in cities and theestablishment of rights in them. That is, these documents reveal the mechanisms ofgestation of democracy in the Hellenic world.In them you can see, on the one hand, how the ancient Greeks began to shapetheir civic identity and to define the link with their cities. They reveal in them someof the features that, later, will identify the concept of πολιτεία, which establishes thecondition and rights of man in his character as a citizen.They show, on the other, highly significant dialectal peculiarities, unavoidable inthe analysis, beyond the difficulties in reading and interpretation that are presentedin many cases. With full awareness of the limits of this approach in view of the subjectworked, the decision to sustain it is based on the conviction that the remarkable Greekdevelopment in political-legal matters would have been impossible in the absence ofthe roots that the inscriptions considered, beyond of its elementary character, allowus to glimpse. | en-US |
| dc.description | A pesar de su carácter incompleto y parcial, las inscripciones griegas arcaicasconstituyen los testimonios escritos más antiguos en relación con el surgimiento delderecho en Grecia, tanto en el ámbito público como privado.Es de notar que las primeras escrituras políticas y jurídicas son prácticamentesimultáneas con la introducción del alfabeto en las ciudades griegas. La apariciónde la escritura trajo aparejadas diversas consecuencias, como la codificación deexperiencias útiles en la vida social, la organización de la actividad política en lasciudades y el establecimiento del derecho en las mismas. Es decir, estos documentosrevelan los mecanismos de gestación de la democracia en el mundo helénico.En ellos se puede apreciar, por un lado, de qué manera los antiguos griegoscomenzaron a conformar su identidad cívica y a definir el vínculo con sus ciudades.Se revelan en ellos algunos de los rasgos que, posteriormente, identificarán elconcepto de πολιτεία, que establece la condición y los derechos del hombre en sucarácter de ciudadano.Por el otro, muestran particularidades dialectales fuertemente significativas,insoslayables en el análisis, más allá de las dificultades en la lectura e interpretaciónque se presentan en muchos casos. Con plena conciencia de los límites de esteabordaje en vistas del tema trabajado, la decisión de sostenerlo se fundamenta en laconvicción de que el notable desarrollo griego en materia político-jurídica hubiera resultado imposible en ausencia de las raíces que las inscripciones consideradas, másallá de su carácter elemental, permiten vislumbrar. | es-ES |
