| dc.description | As part of an ongoing research project, this paper presents a spatial analysis study that uses geographic information systems (GIS). It integrates the main Early Formative settlements with the new evidence gathered in prospecting activities along the water course at the bottom of the Guatacondo ravine. This research aims to understand Formative period processes from the perspective of different ways of settlement, the immediate surroundings and the landscape through semimicroanalysis. It seeks to expand and enrich the concept of village life limited to a central settlement. Identifying 411 sites, researchers use the concepts of intensity and functionality to establish four different areas (A, B, C and D) and segregate ravine settlements into two socially significant units. This shows a particular social organization strategy that is closely tied to landmarks such as hills, ravines, water courses, the living and the dead. | en-US |
| dc.description | En el marco de un proyecto de investigación en curso, se presenta un estudio de análisis espacial mediante el uso de sistemas de información geográfica (SIG), el que integra los principales asentamientos del Formativo Temprano con las evidencias nuevas registradas en las prospecciones realizadas a lo largo de la quebrada de Guatacondo. De esta manera, se busca comprender los procesos del período Formativo a partir del entorno inmediato y su paisaje en una escala de análisis semi-micro. Los resultados permitieron identificar distintas zonas de acuerdo a intensidad y funcionalidad que segregan la ocupación de la quebrada en dos unidades significativas, dando cuenta de una estrategia de organización social particular. | es-ES |
