dc.descriptionOn his return after his exile in Chile (1939-1957), the Catalan architect Germán Rodríguez Arias (1902-1987) settled in Ibiza. There, this member of GATCPAC developed an important work, that has been a reference for architects of later generations. His activity on the islandincludes projects, construction, management, and urban planning. A great knowledgeable about the island and its idiosyncrasies, he became the pied-à-terre for a group of architects, artists, intellectuals, and businessmen who sought to establish themselves there in the 60s and 70s, when the island was amid a transformation process. In the bay of Portinatx, he built several houses, including his own and that of Ricardo Churruca, friend and former partner. An architecture made with few elements,adapted to site, which considers traditionand offers a shelter to inhabitant. The articlepresents a look at these works from the pointof view of the landscape and the plastic,formal and constructive characteristics.en-US
dc.descriptionEn su regreso después del exilio en Chile (1939-1957), el arquitecto catalán Germán Rodríguez Arias (1902-1987), miembro del GATCPAC, se estableció en Ibiza, donde desarrolló una importante labor, que se ha convertido en referencia de arquitectos de generaciones posteriores. Su actividad en la isla abarca los proyectos, la construcción, la gestión y el urbanismo. Gran conocedor de la isla y de su idiosincrasia, se fue convirtiendo en un pied-à-terre de un grupo de arquitectos, artistas, intelectuales y empresarios, que buscaban establecerse ahí en las décadas de los sesenta y setenta, en una isla en pleno proceso de transformación. En la bahía de Portinatx, construyó varias casas, entre ellas la suya propia y la de Ricardo Churruca, amigo y antiguo socio. Una arquitectura hecha con pocos elementos, adaptada al lugar, que interpreta la tradición y ofrece refugio al habitante. El artículo presenta una mirada al conjunto de estas obras desde el punto de vista del paisaje y de sus características plásticas, de forma y construcción.es-ES
