Resumen: En este artículo nos acercamos a la producción narrativa de Armonía Somers con la finalidad de documentar las posibilidades de lo fantástico en función del paradigma cognitivo. Desde algunos cuentos de la autora uruguaya se analiza su empleo como herramienta indagatoria en la condición humana. En este cuestionamiento, a la luz de los últimos estudios en ciencias cognitivas, se revela como fundamental atender a los procesos de lectura y a los efectos que provoca en el lector. De este modo, la experiencia estética se ve alterada por estas formas de lo fantástico. Abstract: In this paper we approach the narrative production of Armonía Somers in order to document the possibilities of the fantastic, based on the cognitive paradigm. From some stories of the Uruguayan author, the use of it as an investigative tool in the human condition is analyzed. In this questioning, in the light of the latest studies in cognitive sciences, it is revealed as fundamental to pay attention to the reading processes and the effects it causes in the reader. In this way, the aesthetic experience is altered by these forms of the fantastic.
