dc.description	Essentially, Pablo Aravena's book - Bolívar's outdatedness. Anachronism, myth and historical consciousness- develops a reflection on the status of history in the present from the idea of historical consciousness, taking as its motive the question of the political construction of Simón Bolívar. The concept of anachronism is here a key to enter the treatment of the problem of historical consciousness in the present. Something anachronistic -an idea, a character, an interpretation, etc.- is that whose use -and abuse- puts it outside of its own time; "out of context" or "out of time" are the colloquial expressions with which this condition usually refers. It is also anachronistic to attribute to a certain character ideas and convictions that belong to the present. In this case, the historical character is anachronized. This is what, according to Aravena, has happened with the figure of Simón Bolívar.	en-US
dc.description	En lo medular, el libro de Pablo Aravena -La inactualidad de Bolívar. Anacronismo, mito y conciencia histórica- desarrolla una reflexión sobre el estatuto de la historia en el presente a partir de la idea de conciencia histórica, tomando como motivo la cuestión de la construcción política de Simón Bolívar. El concepto de anacronismo es aquí una clave de ingreso al tratamiento del problema de la conciencia histórica en el presente. Algo anacrónico -una idea, un personaje, una interpretación, etc.- es aquello cuyo uso -y abuso- lo pone fuera del tiempo que le es propio; “fuera de contexto” o “fuera de época”, son las expresiones coloquiales con que suele referirse esa condición. También es anacrónico atribuirle a determinado personaje ideas y convicciones que pertenecen al presente. En este caso, el personaje histórico resulta anacronizado. Esto es lo que, según Aravena, ha sucedido con la figura de Simón Bolívar.	es-ES
