dc.description	Aristotle is one of the authors who, directly or indirectly, has contributed the most to contemporary discussion on various topics in bioethics. The issue of abortion stands out among them for its relevance and urgency. This article proposes an analysis of the so-called principle of potentiality, an argument that has been used both for and against the defense of the life of the unborn, addressing the readings that have been made of it, both by Christian philosophy and the current English actualist school. The aim of the article is to demonstrate, following the principles of Aristotelian ontology, that human life begins at fertilization.	en-US
dc.description	Aristóteles es uno de los autores que, directa o indirectamente, ha aportado más a la discusión contemporánea sobre diversos temas de bioética. El problema aborto destaca entre ellos por su actualidad y contingencia. En este artículo se propone un análisis del así llamado principio de potencialidad, argumento que ha sido utilizado tanto a favor como en contra de la defensa de la vida del nonato, abordando la lectura que se ha hecho de él, tanto de parte de la filosofía cristiana como de la escuela actualista inglesa. El objetivo del artículo es demostrar, siguiendo los principios de la ontología aristotélica, que la vida humana comienza en la fecundación.	es-ES
