The aim of this work is to analyze the establishment of the Chilean ecclesiastic adminstration at the San Lorenzo de Tarapacá parish between 1880 and 1897. The labor of the first chilean priests is highlighted, presenting the relationship that they had with the Andean communities and emphasizing frictions in the worship articulation.  El presente trabajo tiene como objetivo principal el análisis de la instauración de la administración eclesiástica chilena en la parroquia de San Lorenzo de Tarapacá, ubicada en el interior tarapaqueño, entre los años de 1880-1897. Se rescata la labor de los primeros sacerdotes chilenos, problematizando la relación que sostuvieron con las comunidades andinas, destacando las fricciones presentes en la articulación del culto.
