| dc.description | This article introduces Niklas Luhmann's theory into current research on self-identity, exploring its affinities with enactivist and phenomenological theories. While both approaches recognize the importance of the social dimension, they have overlooked Luhmann's sociology despite their compatibilities. On the other hand, a dialogue with these approaches can enrich Luhmann’s theory to clarify some of its problematic elements. The main objective is to address the problem of psychic systems and their coupling with the body. The article proposes four theses: 1) autopoiesis theory provides a generalizable conception of identity across various systems; 2) the phenomenological notion of the minimal self is equivalent to the autopoietic identity of the psychic system; 3) the self of consciousness implies coupling with the biological organism; 4) the medium of meaning enables the interpenetration between consciousness and the organism. This last thesis challenges a fundamental assumption of Luhmann's theory, but the article argues the necessity of revisiting it to facilitate dialogue and mutual enrichment among different approaches. | en-US |
| dc.description | Este artículo introduce la teoría de Niklas Luhmann en las investigaciones actuales sobre la identidad del yo, explorando sus afinidades con las teorías enactivistas y fenomenológicas. Aunque ambos enfoques reconocen la importancia de la dimensión social, han pasado por alto la sociología de Luhmann a pesar de sus compatibilidades. Por otro lado, el diálogo con estos enfoques puede enriquecer a la teoría luhmanniana con el fin de esclarecer algunos de sus elementos problemáticos. El objetivo principal es abordar el problema de los sistemas psíquicos y su acoplamiento con el cuerpo. El artículo propone cuatro tesis: 1) la teoría de la autopoiesis proporciona una concepción generalizable de la identidad en diversos sistemas; 2) la noción fenomenológica del yo mínimo equivale a la identidad autopoiética del sistema psíquico; 3) el yo de la conciencia implica un acoplamiento con el organismo biológico; 4) el médium del sentido permite la interpenetración entre conciencia y organismo. Esta última tesis cuestiona un presupuesto fundamental de la teoría de Luhmann, pero se argumenta la necesidad de revisarlo para facilitar el diálogo y el enriquecimiento mutuo entre los diferentes enfoques. | es-ES |
